The soft power that has been saving the world

MY COUNTRY IS EXTREMELY WIDE…

Music I. Dunayevsky Lyrics Vasily Lebedev-Kumach

MY COUNTRY IS EXTREMELY WIDE…

Music I. Dunayevsky Lyrics Vasily Lebedev-Kumach Translation Em Rostverg

My country is extremely wide,
There are many rivers, woods and fields!
I don’t know yet such another country,
Where man walks the earth so proud and free.

From our Moscow to our farthest borders,
From the mountains to the northern seas
Man is walking as a real master
Of his vast and dear Native Land.
Everywhere people live light-hearted,
Like the Volga’s high water freely flows.
The young people always work their way up,
The old people have everywhere respect.

My country is extremely wide,
There are many rivers, woods and fields!
I don’t know yet such another country,
Where man walks the earth so proud and free.

Our plains are too huge to see at once,
Our cities — too numerous to know,
And our special beautiful word — comrade —
Is to us the proudest name of all.
With this word, we always feel at home.
For us there are no “black” or “colored” ones.
And this word is familiar to all peoples,
With it we everywhere find true friends.

My country is extremely wide,
There are many rivers, woods and fields!
I don’t know yet such another country,
Where man walks the earth so proud and free.

Over the country the breeze of spring is blowing.
And every day it's happier to live,
And no one on the whole earth can better
Than we can cheer up, rejoice, and love.
But a stern look will furrow our brows,
If the enemy attempts to break us,
As a bride, we love our Native Land,

We protect it as a caring Mom.

My country is extremely wide,
There are many rivers, woods and fields!
I don’t know yet such another country,
Where man walks the earth so proud and free.
